Programme Details

The Classical Culture and Civilisation (CCC) programme for Level 6 to Level 11 aims to encourage learners to:

1. Actively engage in the process of enquiry and delve further into the study of the Classical world.
2. Develop as independent learners, critical and reflective thinkers.
3. Study a range of sources and apply the necessary knowledge and understanding to selected aspects related to the study of classical thought.
4. Develop an awareness of the influence that the Classical world had on later times and evaluate the relevant similarities and differences between the Ancient and the Modern.
5. Develop and apply analytical and evaluative skills at an appropriate level.
6. Produce an informed, personal response to the material studied.

Our CCC programme will focus upon the following areas:

b) What is classical mythology?

Level 8

1. Greek History
2. Community Life in the Classical World - Rome
3. Roman Malta

Level 6

1. Setting the Scene to the Classical World
2. City Life in the Classical World - Greece
3. Community Life in the Roman World

Level 9

1. Setting the Scene to the Classical World
2. City Life in the Classical World - Athens
3. Social Events in the Classical World

Level 10

1. Community Life in the Classical World - Sparta
2. Greek Tragedy and Drama Festivals

Level 11
