Three Level 6 students recently participated in the World Book Day 2019 ‘Book Character Mask’ competition and shared their experience with fellow students during Assembly.

The competition, organised by the National Literacy Agency, was open to all schools in Malta and Gozo. Anna Chugreyeva placed 2nd overall with her ‘Fantastic Mr Fox’ mask and was awarded a certificate and book token during a prize-giving ceremony held at St Nicholas College Mġarr Primary School. Esmeralda Monique Fusini-Davison, with her ‘Tracy Beaker’ mask, and Jean-Paul Borg, with his ‘Kiska the Husky’ mask, were awarded books.

This was a fantastic way of linking literacy to creativity. Reading sparks off the imagination! Well done students! We are so proud of you.
