A Priceless Experience for Budding Medicine Student
During the summer months, Hannah Ciantar, Level 11 student at St Martin’s College, attended a 2-week course on the introduction to Medicine, held at Oxford University. Whilst living on campus, she attended daily classes including a first aid course organised by Child Matters UK in which students learnt how to be first responders. The course was also composed of a detailed explanation of the main organ systems in health and disease. Students were also taught how to log a patient’s medical history and carry out simple procedures.
A few words from Hannah ‘I can say that I gained excellent knowledge about what it is like to study medicine and work in the medical field. I am aware that there is a lot more to it, but I hope that these are my first steps towards an amazing career.’
Well done Hannah. We wish you the very best of luck in your future studies!
