EWWR: Planting kidney beans and setting up a vermicompost bin with our Level 4s!

During their Earth Matters lesson, Level 4 Green engaged in a meaningful discussion on ways to reduce food waste. The class then planted kidney bean seedlings in our school garden and explored the value of mindful consumption.

Through learning about the time and effort required to grow school vegetables like broccoli, learners reflected on gratitude and how this awareness might influence their approach to waste.

The highlight of the lesson? Setting up our brand-new vermicompost bin, which now brings the total number of Chiswick House School compost bins to four! A fantastic step forward in our commitment to sustainability and responsible waste management.

This forms part of our initiatives for European Week for Waste Reduction (EWWR).
