We were honoured to host a special event at St Martin’s College for the official inauguration of The Living Room, a beautiful, curated space that brings to life the timeline of our 120-year story. From our founding sisters in 1905, to the amazing initiatives of 2025, and all the magical moments in between, this room celebrates the heart of our community.
Crafted for our learners, families, staff, and alumni, the Living Room is more than an exhibition, it is a space that is alive! As our community continues to grow, so will this space.
This launch marked the beginning of our 120th anniversary celebrations, bringing together past and present staff members, the Board of Directors, and learner representatives from every level and their families. This space highlights key moments, photographs, and artefacts that tell the story of our school across the decades, reflecting our purpose and presence throughout the past, present, and future.
The evening featured two wonderful performances, one by a current learner and another by an alumna, along with heartfelt speeches by our School Principal, Mr David Lambon and CHSMC Director, Ms Bernie Mizzi.
A touching excerpt from Ms Bernie’s speech captured the spirit of the night:
“For those of you who have spent many years here, like me, you will know that it
seems ages but also, at the same time, it seems we have just batted an eyelid … and gone. But we never leave. We leave behind residue, a wealth of memories, moments, magic. Each and every one of you here today form part of the CHSMC collective. ‘Mine’ fades into ‘ours’. ‘Ours’ morphs into ‘theirs’.”
A heartfelt thank you goes to the dedicated staff team, performers as well as the History students who helped bring this meaningful space to life.
