Tikka Matematika Seminar
Tikka Matematika Seminar Chiswick House School educators, Ms Caroline, Ms Emma and Ms Gillian, attended the Tikka Matematika Seminar organised by the Science Centre Pembroke where they joined sessions related to tackling socio-scientific issues through Maths, questioning greater depth and more.
Music and Drama
Music and Drama Ms Lisa Bonello (CHS music teacher), Mr James Utting (SMC music teacher) and Ms Jessica Lee Bristow (CHS drama teacher) attended Europe’s largest conference and exhibition for music and drama education in London. A great professional learning experience and opportunity to broaden horizontal connections. They are very excited to put the innovative strategies they have learnt through this professional learning into practice.
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
News or Event Title Level 4 learners have been introduced to Roald Dahl. After reading his book ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’ pupils enjoyed being Willy Wonka for the day. As part of the day’s activities, pupils invented a new chocolate bar, designed a wrapper for it and came up with a slogan to promote it. They also analysed the characters of the book and made their own chocolate balls. They ended their fun day by watching the movie which they then compared to the book. Learners are now being encouraged to continue reading more books of Roald Dahl.
Physics
Physics Profs. Carmel J. Caruana, from the University of Malta, gave a very interesting presentation to our Level 13 Physics A-level students about the relatively new Bachelor course in Medical Physical. He explained to them what the course entails and how it serves as a bridge between the Sciences and the Medical sector.
INTEREtching
INTEREtching Level 12 and Level 13 Art students had practical sessions with local artist-printmaker Jesmond Vassallo as part of the project INTEREtching. Under the guidance of Mr Vassallo and Art teachers, all students polished and prepared their copper plates in the initial stages of this etching technique. They then finalised the sketches previously done at MUZA to be used as an inspiration for their work. All their designs were meticulously drawn on the copper plates in preparation for the next part of this project which is supported by Arts Council Malta.
U13 Girls Basketball Team
U13 Girls Basketball Team Well done to St Martin’s College U13 Girls Basketball Team. They showed true determination during the Interschool Tournament held in Ta Qali.

U13 Interschool Football Tournament
U13 Interschool Football Tournament We are pleased to have hosted the U13 Interschool Football Tournament at St Martin’s College today. A total of 14 schools participated. Our boys made us proud placing 5th overall. Well done to all participants!
