Kindness in Action

Kindness in Action We are very proud of our Level 1 & 2 pupils who collected €831 through their 'Kindness in Action' fund-raising initiatives during Term 1. These proceeds, which were presented to Missio Malta during a special assembly this week, will serve to sponsor two children’s education in Zambia as well as contribute towards a Missio Malta project aimed at supporting subsistence farming in Busholo, Ethiopia

Puttinu Cares During this morning's assembly, representatives from Chiswick House School's Student Council presented a cheque to Dr Decelis from Puttinu Cares. International Science Conference Ms Emma Paris Senior Middle Leader for Teaching and Learning Junior Years, Ms Ingrid Bonello, Level 4 Science Lead and Class Teacher, Ms Bernice Mizzi, Level 5 Science Lead and Class Teacher and Ms Clarisse Schembri Frendo, Learning Area Leader for the Science Department attended an International Science Conference from the 4th to the 7th January in Sheffield. During the conference they learnt about innovative practices and networked with international schools. They look forward to strengthening their practices in this learning area in weeks to come

Professional Learning The CHSMC administration team started the new year with an inspirational and energising morning during which they engaged in a session regarding strengthening teams, their interactions and ways of focusing on quality for enhanced customer care and community spirit. Beach Clean Up

Beach Clean-Up On the last day of Autumn Term a beach clean-up was organised for Level 7 students. Students together with their respective teachers and key volunteers from Din L-Art Helwa Mellieha visited Armier Bay, Little Armier Bay, White Tower Bay, and Coral Lagoon Bay for this task. Provided with gloves, pickers, and numerous bags, guided by the organisers, students spent an entire school day along the seashore cleaning the above-mentioned beaches in a thorough manner. Whilst picking up rubbish lying on the beach students kept a note of the different types they found. By the end of the day 67 kilos of rubbish was collected. A massive well done to all!

Sakharov Youth Seminar

Sakharov Youth Seminar Shevaun Rooney and Adam Vassallo, two Level 13 students studying at St Martin’s College Sixth Form, attended the Sakharov Youth Seminar for European Parliament Ambassador Schools in Strasbourg, France, this week. The students also had the opportunity to attend the Sakharov Prize for Freedom of Thought award ceremony. This prestigious prize is awarded each year by the European Parliament to honour individuals and organisations defending human rights and fundamental freedoms. This year the Prize was awarded to the People of Ukraine. Shevaun and Adam were accompanied by their Advanced level History teacher, Paul Portelli.

Silver Award 2022

Silver Award 2022 We are pleased to announce that Chiswick House School has been awarded the ‘Silver Award 2022’ certificate for its sterling work in promoting reading. These initiatives include our many author visits, library activities and book month events. The Literacy and Information Support Unit within the National Literacy Agency, in collaboration with the Directorate for Learning and Assessment Programmes, organises an annual ‘Book Champion Schools’ campaign that acknowledges and rewards schools which actively promote a reading culture within their learning environment.
