Auskick Level 4 and 5 pupils were introduced to the popular Australian Sport, Auskick. This sport is run through the winter season in Malta and is supported locally by the Australian High Commission and Sport Malta. Auskick is a programme designed to teach the basic skills of Australian Rules Football (AFL) to children between the ages of 5 and 12.

Professional Learning

Professional Learning Grazia Strano, Learning Area Leader of International Languages attended a training course at Dante Alighieri in Rome last weekend. The course focused on the choices and resources that teachers have at their disposal to favour the learning of Italian in the cognitive development phase of students between 10 and 15 years old. The course also tackled multilingualism, neuroscience, playful teaching and assessing students' linguistic skills. Several innovative workshops were conducted by experts in didactic skills.

Newly elected Chiswick House School student council The newly elected Chiswick House School student council got right down to business and came up with the following mission statement. “The Student Council will take the responsibility to ensure that everybody is safe and that nobody ever feels left out and a feeling of inclusion is felt by all. We promise to be sustainable and promote this principle at all times. With our innovations, we will nurture our school and ensure the growth of all.” They are seen here in one of their first weekly meetings. We look forward to sharing with you the various incredible initiatives they have planned.

Live Streaming – COP27

Live Streaming - COP27 This morning Nicky Samut, Adam Vassallo, Adam Tabone, Jade Psaila Dufoo and Sophie Knobel participated enthusiastically during the live streaming session with Dr Karl Vella who is currently attending the COP27 conference in Egypt. Each student framed three excellent questions but the 30 minute session only allowed us to air a question each. Dr Vella enjoyed answering the very intelligent and searching questions on sustainability and our personal and collective responsibilities towards our planet’s future. Dr Karl Vella is consultant to Chiswick House School and St Martin’s College on sustainability. Well done students! Thank you Ms Angela for facilitating this session fabulously and supporting Ms Sabina on her plans ahead. Mr David’s technical support was flawless.

COP27

COP27 A group of St Martin’s College students from L11, L12 and L13 will be actively participating in a Live Stream Q&A Session with Dr Karl Vella, CHSMC's Sustainability Consultant. Dr Vella is attending COP27 Climate Conference in Egypt. This session will take place on Monday 14th November at 11:30am. Today, a preparatory meeting was held between Ms Bernie, Ms Sabina Sixsmith, Ms Angela Bianchi who will be facilitating the COP27 Live Stream session and the students who will be participating.
