Sustainability for Schools Webinar This morning Ms Bernie participated in a webinar titled Sustainability for Schools. The webinar delved into the challenges and opportunities pertaining to sustainability, with a particular focus on climate change. Ms Bernie presented about our school vision on sustainability. The webinar was organised by the HSBC Malta Foundation and provided practical information on what actions schools can take to help them adapt and evolve within this new context.

Level 7 Live-in

Level 7 Live-In Level 7s live-in was held last week at St Martin’s College. The group enjoyed a nature walk and games, sports sessions and other activities which focused on learning about themselves and each other. These live-ins provide an opportunity for our students and teachers to come together in a more relaxed environment. Students bonded, built friendships and made memories that they will cherish forever.

Fun Fit Football

Fun Fit Football All pupils from Level 1 to Level 5 are participating in Fun Fit Football launched by the The “Inhobb il-Futbol Foundation”(IFF), a promotional campaign funded by UEFA and the local government with the aim of promoting fun sessions to all primary schools in Malta and Gozo. Level 1s are seen here during their session which ties in with our 'Let's Move' initiative. We are pleased to announce that we have extended 'Let's Move' until Friday 11th November as we have many more activities planned across many levels.

Brussels Trip

Brussels Trip A group of St Martin’s College Sixth Form students spent 6 days in Brussels, Bruges and Ghent between the 27th October and 1st November 2022. They learnt about the EU institutions and of job opportunities within the EU. They attended the opening ceremony of the Youth Forum which was held at the European Parliament where they were welcomed by the President of the European Parliament, Dr Roberta Metsola. They also visited the Maltese and Slovene Translation Unit of ECOSOC and the Committee of Regions. Students also engaged in team building activities including a scavenger hunt that led them to various parts of the town. The winning team were treated to a taste of Belgian waffles. This was truly a memorable as well as enriching experience for all students.

Parent Meeting

Parent Meeting Parents of Bumble Bees, Early Years 1 and Early Years 2 were invited to school today for talks delivered by Ms Audrey. The focus of these talks was on the School Improvement Process, The Creative Pedagogy, sustainability matters and oracy. Whilst, Ms Cynthia Rizzo, Early Years Teaching and Learning Leader, spoke about the reading trajectory in Early Years 2. Ms Sabina Sixsmith, Outdoor Learning Leader, also shared the upcoming initiatives planned for our outdoor learning experience for Chiswick House School within the Early Years.

Hanging out with…Zak Micallef

Hanging out with...Zak Micallef Yesterday we started off this year’s sessions of HANGING OUT WITH… (Zak Micallef) where Chiswick House School and St Martin’s College Alumni are invited to talk to our current student cohort about their experiences at school and how they achieved their goals. Zak Micallef struggled with dyslexia and learning difficulties throughout his school life however, instead of giving up, he chose to keep working hard to overcome his difficulties. He finished school successfully and went on to earn a degree and then furthered his studies to achieve a Masters. He is now an Artificial Intelligence Developer. Congratulations Zak and thank you very much for inspiring our students.
