Bonding Day St Martin’s College students are seen here during their annual Bonding Day. A day dedicated to support learners’ wellbeing, their need to socialise and settle into another scholastic year. Each level visited a different location in Malta and enjoyed a fun-filled day of team building activities and friendly competitions.
Borrowing Books during the Summer Months
Borrowing Books during the Summer Months We encourage learners to keep borrowing books from our school libraries during the summer months of JULY and SEPTEMBER. St Martin’s College will keep using the 'email and collect' system whereby students send a list of book titles or preferred genres via email to [email protected] or through Teams. Books may then be collected from reception. Chiswick House School is also offering the opportunity to borrow books during the month of JULY. Email [email protected] with your required book titles and they will be prepared for collection from reception. Please not that both libraries are closed throughout the month of August.
Level 4 End of Year Celebration
Level 4 End of Year Celebration Our Level 4 pupils performed ‘The Bookworms’ during their end of scholastic year celebration. After reading the book Matilda by Roald Dahl they delved into how the story went from book to stage. They performed to the songs ‘When I grow up’ and ‘Revolting Children’ from the musical Matilda. Some pupils also performed dialogues which they had written themselves. Pupils were also awarded books for a special quality identified in each and every pupil. Fantastic show Level 4s!
Level 3 End of Year Celebration
Level 3 End of Year Celebration Level 3 pupils performed “This is Our Story” as their end of year celebration. The virtual academy pupils participated from home. Pupils learnt the British Sign Language (BSL) to ‘Tomorrow’ of Annie as well as 'Come Alive' by the Greatest Showman which they performed brilliantly. Some pupils also acted out monologues which they wrote themselves. You nailed it Level 3s!
CHS Library Competition
CHS Library Competition We are pleased to announce that Level 3 Yellow, Level 4 Red and Level 5 Red are the winners of our “Button-a-Book” library competition. As a reward the classes who achieved the most buttons and points were treated to a clay session which Alka Ceramics provided online. This annual incentive encourages pupils to take more of an interest in reading. Pupils are rewarded buttons for their class for every book read throughout the scholastic year. These initiatives give the children the opportunity to value the relevance and importance of reading and respect within the school community. A big well done to all! Collaboration, teamwork, commitment and respect are values that are integral within our CHS community.
Donation by Middle School Students
Donation by Middle School Students The Middle School Student Council, represented by Level 6 councillors, Serena Ann Xuereb and Michael Sciberras, presented a cheque to a representative of Beating Hearts Malta. This charity organisation provides support for adults and children born with congenital heart disease, as well as support for their families. A big well done to Middle School students for their contribution to such a worthy cause!
Level 8 Transition Programme
Level 8 Transition Programme As part of the transition programme our Level 8 students were given an introduction to the Senior School followed by a Q&A session with Level 9 students. We wish all Level 8 students the best of luck for this exciting milestone in their educational journey!
Art Competition
Art Competition The art department at St Martin’s College organised an art competition titled “In Transition and Transformation”, which is one of the areas of focus chosen for our School Improvement Process this scholastic year. Students were asked to think about these last months and discuss the number of challenges that the new norm presented. A substantial number of entries were submitted in various styles and mediums, reflecting the students' creative abilities and approaches. An experienced panel selected a winner from each level who were awarded a book token and a voucher for art material. Well done to all the winners.
