CHSMC IT Masters

CHSMC IT Masters September 2019 saw the start of our 3-year plan for a digital transformation at Chiswick House School and St Martin’s College. However, these extraordinary times have demanded that we went from Phase 1 to Phase 2 in an extremely short time! Named as such after our experiences in Singaporean schools during ICSEI 2018, this digital transformation would not have been possible without the great support from our IT Masters who enabled all their teams to make this happen! The staff members making up this fantastic group have been tasked with such a role due to their excellent mastery of IT skills. Led by Ms Esmeralda Zerafa, IT Strategy Leader, the group has provided professional learning opportunities to all staff members and has been pivotal in making this a swift and successful process. Keeping sensitivities and context in mind, there is an exciting path ahead.

Sixth Form Online Discussion

Sixth Form Online Discussion Level 12 and 13 students studying History at Advanced level at St Martin’s College Sixth Form, had the opportunity to have an online discussion with Adrian Szumski, who was born and raised in Poland. Mr Szumski shared with our learners some popular and his own personal experiences of Poland during the Martial Law lockdown of the early 1980s and the steps the country took towards 1989 to peacefully adopt a more democratic approach to politics. The Fall of Communism in Eastern Europe is part of the History Advanced syllabus.

Live Streaming Trial Week at CHSMC

Live Streaming Trial Week at CHSMC We are delighted with the outcome of our 'Live Streaming Trial Week'. During this trial week most learners at Chiswick House School and St Martin’s College reunited with one or more of their teachers within a virtual classroom setting using Microsoft Teams. This successful Trial Period allowed us to ensure that all technical difficulties are resolved before our launch of the full Live Streaming programme at both CHS and SMC at the start of the third term. All staff members at CHSMC have worked tirelessly during these last few weeks to continue providing students with quality tasks to ensure that learning and then deeper learning continues to take place. We continue to focus on upskilling all our teaching staff to be able to use a wide range of online resources. New timetables have been put together for all learners and will be shared with all parents soon. The proposed e-learning programme will engage learners at all levels, including Sixth Form, in a blended and balanced approach of real time sessions as well as other tasks. Whilst we wish you all the very best during this Easter break, we look forward to sharing with you our new plans soon! Keep well and stay safe!
