EWWR: Composting Workshop for Parents and Children Parents and children came together for an interactive Composting Workshop, learning how to turn kitchen scraps into nutrient-rich compost. It was a fantastic session filled with hands-on learning and practical tips on how to compost at home. Composting organic waste to use in your garden reduces the environmental impact of the rubbish we create and makes us more mindful of the volume of our waste. This formed part of our initiatives for European Week for Waste Reduction (EWWR).

EWWR: Early Years 2 Purple pupils start a garden! As part of European Week for Waste Reduction (EWWR) our pupils from Early Years 2 Purple have started their very own garden! Our pupils dug soil, planted seeds, and learned about different plants to truly appreciate the effort behind every tasty meal. By growing their own food and learning about sustainability, Ms Roxanne’s class are taking powerful steps to reduce food waste. This produce will be used in future cooking classes, and we are super excited to see what delicious recipes they come up with!

Nature Matters Programme 24 - 25 We kicked off our Nature Matters programme, starting with our Level 3s. This programme is a great opportunity for our learners to connect with the great outdoors and explore nature through topics covered at school. The aim of this programme is to further develop learner’s cognitive abilities and social skills as they explore their world, challenge themselves and interact with others. Shortly, our Level 2s, Level 4s and Level 5s will enjoy their own Nature Matters experience. This initiative forms part of our Learning Beyond the Classroom programme.

What have we been up to? our Level 9 and Level 10 participants kicked off an exciting first training session, honing essential skills such as local area familiarization, map orientation, and basic navigation. Their day included a scenic walk from school to the Wied Għollieqa Nature Reserve, a perfect setting to put their new skills into practice. We look forward to more adventures ahead.
