Alexia Cassar attended St Martins College Sixth Form from 2014 to 2016, where she studied English, Maltese, and Sociology at A-Level, along with Biology, Psychology, and Systems of Knowledge at Intermediate Level.
After Sixth Form, she earned a law degree at the University of Malta and obtained her warrant to practise as an advocate in 2022. She went on to pursue an LLM in International Business Law at Queen Mary University of London. During her time in London, she gained invaluable experience through an internship with a prominent European banking institution and actively participated in pro bono work, providing legal advice to SMEs.
Now a qualified lawyer in Malta, she specialises in corporate, commercial, and banking law.
Reflecting on her time at St Martin’s College, Alexia shares how the college allowed her to tailor her studies to address her specific ambitions, enabling her to take on an additional third A-Level instead of the usual two. She believes this flexibility is what sets St Martin’s College apart, along with the small class sizes that provided plenty of individual attention.

“One of the things I appreciated most about St Martin’s College Sixth Form was its flexibility in supporting my academic goals. I was determined to take on an additional A-Level, and the school went out of its way to help me tailor my programme to make that possible.
During my time at SMC, I also took part in programmes like Young Enterprise and Euroscola, which gave me opportunities to develop practical skills and expand my perspective beyond the classroom. These experiences complemented my studies and left a lasting impression.
Looking back, I’m grateful for the solid foundation I gained at St Martin’s College, which helped shape my academic and professional journey.”
