Nicholas attended St Martin’s College Sixth Form from 2022 to 2024. He followed the programme that allowed him to study three Advanced Level subjects and three Intermediate Level subjects, including Systems of Knowledge, where he completed one of my Advanced Level subjects within his first year at sixth form. Nicholas graduated with high grades and is now a student reading for a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering at The University of Malta.
Nicholas believes that good quality education is about more than just building strong technical knowledge, it is also equally characterised by the cultivation of creative thinking, problem solving, and people’s skills. He believes that each of these skills were instilled in the students by the many teachers of St Martin’s College Sixth Form who he credits for seeking beyond just the academic success of their students, but also their success as individuals, as people. Nicholas praises the teachers at SMC for being adamant that students must understand the content rather than to simply memorise aspects of it, as they understood the true key to success is to carve a path to solutions using reason.

“As a student who has struggled with Dyslexia and ADHD for all my life, I always felt supported by my teachers who never failed to keep us engaged in the content of the syllabus.
The small classes allowed us to receive a great deal of individual attention from our teachers, who always made sure they were easily approachable, even after school hours via quick responses to emails. These smaller classes also aided in our school community forming strong and close bonds between students of diverse backgrounds and dreams, to the point that by the end of the two years, the SMC community was less like a school, and more like a family.
I will always be deeply grateful for the devotion which my teachers at St Martin’s College Sixth Form showed to their students.”
