St Martin’s College recently held a school-wide initiative celebrating the art of the essay-L-Esej, through an exciting competition in both English and Maltese. Themed Our Planet, this initiative showcased students’ essay-writing skills across all levels, in both languages. The event was a collaborative effort between the English, Maltese, and Creative Arts Departments.
Heartfelt thanks go to our readers, teachers, and students for their exceptional contributions. The SMC community is especially grateful to our esteemed guest speakers from the University of Malta: Professor Mario Aquilina (Department of English), Professor Adrian Grima (Department of Maltese), and Dr Kurt Borg (Department of Public Policy). Their presence greatly enriched the event and provided a marvellous opportunity for our students.
The event was coordinated by Dr Kathleen and Mr Nikola, the Learning Area Leaders for English and Maltese, respectively.
A special thanks goes to KLIKK, for generously sponsoring the first-place prizes as well as Essay Beyond Borders (EBB) EU funded initiative led by Professor Mario Aquilina. Their support is deeply appreciated.
